Gambling 

Overview

In most Canadian provinces the gaming industry has grown significantly over the last two decades under the aegis of the State. The dawn of this industry dates back to Expo '67 in Montreal when the first $1-million draw was held to help pay the costs of that event. Other than this one exception, gambling, in all its forms, was considered a crime until 1969.
