Examines the proportion of crimes associated with alcohol and other drugs in Canada by charting the relationship between psychoactive substance use and crime in three populations: male federal inmates, male provincial inmates and individuals arrested for a crime. Research from a number of countries indicates a strong association between the use of alcohol and other drugs and the commission of crimes.
