Robert’s areas of expertise include cognitive neuroscience, stress, cognitive functioning, emotion regulation and depressive disorders.
Biography:
The balance of good physical and mental health has always intrigued Robert Gabrys. He believes that mental illness and addiction are personal and public concerns that can affect any of us. He has a strong passion for improving the mental health and well-being of individuals.
Robert’s interest in the human mind fueled his pursuit of a BA in psychology, an MSc in neuroscience and PhD in neuroscience – all from Carleton University. After completing his PhD, he had a post-doctoral fellowship at Carleton. Since joining CCSA in July 2018, he has provided his expertise on projects relating to cannabis and mental health.
When not working for CCSA on the improvement of the mental well-being of others, Robert improves his own physical well-being by participating in sports, hiking and other outdoor activities.
