Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction to share its views on Cannabis Act today
Ottawa, April 16, 2018 — The Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA) will be appearing today at the Senate Standing Committee on Social Affairs, Science and Technology to share its views on Bill C-45, the Cannabis Act. CCSA will also be speaking on the importance of public education on cannabis, especially for young Canadians.
Cannabis is an important research and policy priority for CCSA, especially with legislation proceeding through Parliament. Over the last decade, CCSA has made significant contributions to the knowledge about the health impacts of cannabis to support an evidence-based, public health approach to cannabis regulation.
Dr. Amy Porath, CCSA’s Director of Research, will be presenting on behalf of the organization. Dr. Porath will also be available for media interviews today.
