Christina Katan, MPH

Christina’s areas of study includes developing and evaluating public health interventions, as well as co-designing methods and participatory action research.
Biography:
Christina Katan takes a special interest in applying the social determinants of health to her work. She has worked as a research assistant for the Scottish Collaboration for Public Health Research and Policy. She also worked for the Ontario Women’s Health Network as a communications and administrative officer. She enjoys working with people and hearing stories from diverse members of the community. These are two of the fundamental reasons for her joining CCSA.
Christina holds a Bachelor in Health Sciences from the University of Ottawa. She also attended the University of Edinburgh in Scotland where she earned a Master of Public Health.
Christina moved to Ottawa to join CCSA in October 2018 as a project coordinator. In March 2019, CCSA promoted her to the role of knowledge broker.
In her spare time, Christina enjoys exploring nature and staying active through dance.
