What you will learn
Presented by Shawna Meister, Associate Director, Innovation and Evidence in Practice at CCSA, and her team, our workshop is designed to help workplace leaders build better, more supportive environments through evidence-based practical strategies, improved approaches and proactive education.
This workshop will help you:
- Improve workplace responses to substance use, including identifying and reducing risk factors, understanding how substance use intersects with the work environment and boosting protective measures.
- Strengthen workplace policies, establish meaningful support options for workers and support safe return-to-work plans.
- Better understand legal responsibilities, stigma, high-risk factors and effective prevention strategies.
- Improve skills to recognize when something is not right, respond without judgment and have effective, supportive conversations.
This course is accredited for members of the Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF) for 20 continuing education units (CEU).
