Managing Substance Use and the Workplace Workshop

Body

In today’s challenging political and economic climates, some workers are likely to turn to substance use to cope, contributing to reduced productivity, higher absenteeism, diminished employee morale and well-being, and greater health and safety risks. Whether it is problematic, occasional or for medical reasons, substance use can affect all workplaces.

Our Managing Substance Use in the Workplace Workshop helps address a wide array of substance use situations in the workplace. It is geared towards prevention and reducing workplace risks that could contribute to and result from substance use.

  • Strengthen workplace policies, establish meaningful support options for workers and support safe return-to-work plans.
  • Better understand legal responsibilities, stigma, high-risk factors and effective prevention strategies.
