Raadiya Malam

Raadiya is committed to using evidence-based research to inform policies that improve the lives of people affected by substance use. 

Raadiya holds an Honours Bachelor’s in Health Sciences and a Master of Public Health from the University of Ottawa. Her passion for public health research began during her graduate studies, where she saw firsthand how data and evidence could influence health policy. This interest, particularly in substance use health, led her to CCSA, where she joined full-time in July 2022 as a Research and Policy Analyst. In this role, she specializes in synthesizing and analyzing early warning trends in substance use and measuring the economic costs of substance use in Canada.

For Raadiya, the most inspiring part of her work is knowing it makes a difference for real people — something that continues to motivate her every day. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring new parts of her city and searching for the best matcha in town.
