Jurisdictional Profiles

The National Treatment Indicators (NTI) project is led by the Canadian Centre on Substance Use and Addiction (CCSA), in collaboration with the NTI Working Group. The group consists of representatives from the provinces and territories, as well as from national organizations involved with treatment delivery or reporting. The regularly issued NTI reports provide the only syntheses of data about publicly funded, community-based treatment across Canada.

In 2019, the NTI Working Group reviewed its data reporting protocols and the capacity of jurisdictions to collect and report substance use treatment data. It identified an opportunity to align the NTI data collection process with international treatment indicators to improve consistency in reporting on treatment utilization across all jurisdictions. The NTI Working Group aligned its data collection and reporting with the core set of international indicators to produce its most recent report, National Treatment Indicators Report: 2016–2018 Data.

We have also produced one-page graphical profiles to illustrate substance use treatment utilization by jurisdiction and to help monitor the capacity of jurisdictions to report on the core set of international treatment indicators. In addition, there are national profiles to illustrate this data across all reporting jurisdictions. Click on the jurisdictions below to find data from the years 2016–2017 and 2017–2018.
