Episode 5: The Brain Story

November 4, 2019

Science tells us that the experiences we have in the earliest years of our life change brain architecture in lasting ways. The Brain Story certification course explores these links between early childhood trauma, brain development and the consequences for lifelong health, including addiction. The Alberta Family Wellness Initiative (AFWI) developed the Brain Story course. On this episode of the evidence, AFWI President Michelle Gagnon and AFWI Scientific Director, Senior Program Officer Nicole Sherren speak with our new correspondent Victoria Lewis about their program. Dr. Doris Payer also stops by to discuss CCSA’s recently held Brain Builders Lab featuring the Brain Story.
